Our Mission:

The mission of the New Mexico Thoracic Society (NMTS) is to promote excellence in the care of individuals with pulmonary, sleep, and critical illness by providing education to a wide range of medical providers on the state-of-the-art management of these disorders. The NMTS accomplishes this by hosting the only scientific meeting in the state of New Mexico that addresses this need.

Our Profile:

The New Mexico Thoracic Society was established in the early 1970s. We host the only scientific meeting for physicians & members of the pulmonary, critical care & sleep medicine community in New Mexico. The purpose of this meeting is to provide education on lung disease, sleep and critical care, identify investigations into new models of treatment, overview the latest respiratory research developments, and to issue CME credits. Currently, we have held 40 consecutive symposiums and have grown consistently so that we now host over 200 participants, many of whom attend on a regular basis. The NMTS prides itself on the excellence of faculty credentials and the superior content of the presentations. The focus is on new medical findings & techniques in the fields of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. Every third or fourth year, we focus totally on the field of sleep medicine. In other years, we have focused on COPD, Asthma, bioterrorism and other pulmonary and sleep issues.
